These processes are prone to human-error. It is also very nuanced. Simply plugging in an LLM will not bridge all the business requirements and cover all the edge cases.

Opstream's Tech Core

Our tech stack is the backbone of Opstream. With NextJS and FastAPI, we've quickly built a platform to be scalable.

The brains of Opstream lie in its AI capabilities. Using context-matching algorithms so that every message finds its place, creating an organized flow of communication.

By integrating with OpenAI, we made solving the business communication a priority. Moving to our own LLM is an investment that we did not prioritize now but might be thinking of doing so soon.

Engineering Challenges

While building Opstream, we faced a lot of day-to-day engineering hurdles but most of them could be categorized into one of two;

While we tried to navigate the path to flawless context mapping, it was often riddled with errors. Our approach to all such errors was to focus on developing resilient algorithms and provide an easy-to-use interface for quick corrections.

The second was the user interface. When designing Opstream, the user always came first. So figuring out a design that strips away complexity, with features like context highlighting and bookmarking amongst others constantly felt like a challenge. It was not just AI we were playing around with.
